Erik Selvig, as portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is an astrophysicist initially working with Jane Foster in New Mexico.
He first appears in Thor (2011), helping Foster research unusual atmospheric phenomena indicative of Thor's arrival on Earth.
